Hey crafty friends! With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching I’ve been working on a few quick and easy Valentine’s Day ideas with the kids. My husband and I usually stay in on Valentine’s Day with the kids to watch movies and eat chocolate covered popcorn. This year, however, we’ll be going away for the weekend for the first time since our early dating years. This is a huge deal, people! We’ll be spending a lovely evening with one of my favorite bands – The Avett Brothers! I’m having a major fangirl moment and thanking my lucky stars the hubs is willing to tag along to watch a couple of banjo playing guys for the night. With our valentine weekend planned we decided to have an early Valentine’s Day with the kids. As I mentioned a million times before, I’m a big fan of holidays even the little ones like Valentine’s Day. I attempt to make them fun for the kids, which usually means movies, sweets, and family movie night. Today I’m sharing an easy Valentine’s party display I made for the kids using supplies from the Target One Spot.
I’m pretty sure we’ve discussed my obsession with the Target one spot quite a bit over the years, but have noticed how amazing it’s become over the last year or two? They now carry trendy craft and home decor supplies that are great for holidays. Recently they started carrying American Crafts supplies all for $1-3. Take a peek at some of the amazingness like Valentine washi tape, chalkboard tags, stamps, gel pens, glitter paper, paper straws, stickers, and so much more.
Using my American Crafts haul I created a few easy Valentine decorations. I used a banner from the party section to make a pennant banner with die cut hearts.
With the same red glitter paper I mod podge it onto a wooden heart for an easy decoration that I can use for years.
Once again I’ve used the glitter paper to wrap “labels” around milk bottles filled with pink lemonade. The stickers are from the scrapbook section and they’re also American Crafts brand.
These white paper sacks were perfect for treat bags. I decorated them with a die cut glitter heart and chalkboard sticker heart. I can’t stop swooning over that faux chalkboard i love you washi tape!
To finish off my display I added this adorable fox and mini mailbox, also from the dollar spot.
Thanks for stopping by!
