Hello, A Pumpkin & a Princess readers! I’m Ginger & I blog over at Ginger Snap Crafts. I’m so excited to be hanging out over here at Crystal’s while she’s away! I “met” Crystal when I first started blogging & I LOVE her!! She’s awesome & sooooo talented. Doesn’t she have the best crafts & recipes??? I’ve really enjoyed her washi tape crafts. She actually inspired me to pick up some washi tape for myself! :) Today I’d love to share my {washi tape} checkerboard clipboards!
For this project you’ll need clipboards, washi tape {I found mine at Target}, an X-ACTO knife & scissors.
I started off at the bottom of my clipboard & placed my horizontal washi tape strips on first. I went all the way to the top of the clipboard. So your clipboard will all be the same color. Then I started on my vertical strips with a different color of washi tape. I used my X-ACTO knife cut small lines in the tape using the tape underneath as a guide.
Then you remove the squares that you don’t need. Then you just keep on going until your whole clipboard looks like a checkerboard!
Crystal, thank you so much for having me over! I’d love for YOU stop by Ginger Snap Crafts sometime. It’s a place where I share my cute & easy crafts like these:
baby boy gift basket, photo pendants, our family block, block nativity, coffee filter wreath & knob block
I also have a fun link party on Wednesdays! I would LOVE to see what your up to! :)
Thanks for having me over! :) Hope you are having a wonderful time in Chicago!! ;)
Very cute Ginger! I did a washi tape guest post too…lol! I guess we are both addicted!
Such a great idea! That Ginger, she always comes up with the best crafts!
this is a nice way to personalize something mundane, Although it would take quite a bit of tape to do both sides,
Those are great.
Very nice clip board, what size tape.??? So many sizes, looks like 5/8??
I keep seeing washi tape crafts and it is killing me that I don’t have any washi tape, I think I see a visit to Target in my near future!
Absolutely love the clipboards. I intend to make at least one for each family member and friends. I do have one question; is the surface of the clipboard smooth enough to use only one or two pieces of paper to write on or do you need to use a pad ? Thank you.
