Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree – Michaels dream tree reveal!Â
Hi crafty friends! It’s November 1st, do you know what that means? It’s time to reveal our Michaels Dream Tree! Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on our Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree. I’m excited and honored to be part of the Michaels Makers dream tree challenge this year. We’re in full Christmas mode around here and have been way before we approached Halloween. I’ve sat next to the lit tree every night this week enjoying N*SYNC Christmas music and this pretty little Christmas tree.
Michaels Dream Tree
It doesn’t snow where I live in California but oh, how we wish for a White Christmas. My original plan was to create an all white tree inspired by a winter wonderland. Then I came across these light green glittery flowers and spray picks and knew I had to have them on our tree. I really like how the light green and glitter adds a hint of sparkle.
The green poinsettias are so pretty spread throughout the tree.
The holidays are the perfect time to bust out the glitter. I will always love glitter ornaments and couldn’t love this deer ornament anymore. Michaels has a great collection of ceramic ornament this year. I decided to keep the ceramic white and mod podge glitter on the deer only. The contrast really makes him pop and goes perfectly with the winter wonderland christmas tree theme.
My theme was also inspired by this beautiful white pinecone garland. I used three garlands total and could probably have added another two, but we made it work.
For the tree skirt I used a blanket. I love the look and feel of this pretty cream blanket and thought it worked perfectly with my winter wonderland theme.
The snowflake topper is a little hard to see in the picture above but here’s a close up. I used floral wire on the back to ensure it stayed in place.
My favorite part of the tree are the monogramed ornament frames for each member of our family. I’ll have another post with ornament details soon.
How pretty I love the sparkle. You’ve captured a winter wonderland wonderfully.
Stunning! I love everything. :)
Very elegant! I really like the different greens and the white garland on the tree. I’ll have to check out my store and see if I can find it for myself!
Looks like you put a lot of heart and hard work into your beautiful tree. I love the pine cone garland among others. I’ll have to look for that garland but could use something I made couple years ago on tree.
Thinking I’d like to make frames. but no initials. Just bought little silver frame yesterday at Michaels from the $1.50 bins. Love to make frame for every one of kids and grandkids. We won’t get to see 4 of grandkids but I can put their photos in frames to keep them in mind all day and holiday season besides 2 grandkids that live close by.
Think that would be a great project for youngest grand daughter to help me with. She loves helping me with craft projects so think she’d enjoy decorating the frames. Different idea than how you made yours but you inspired the idea with your gorgeous tree and initial frames.
We haven’t had a tree for couple years now but think this year we will. I’d love to have a real tree but they’ve gotten so expensive, that tree smell and feel is always one of favorite parts of season. Will have to see what I can do.
I tied strips of white and silver silky fabric on a 100 light string couple years ago so it would be pretty on a tree as a garland and I save some money. I love the lights on the string with the fabric, all shiney and pretty. Looks like your tree has inspired me in several ways, sure glad I got to see your post and tree.
Happy week
