I’m having fun decorating for Halloween this year. My daughter is at an age where she loves all the decorations, crafts, and treats. Every time I pull out another decoration or craft she gets excited! Over the weekend I made this display of Halloween apothecary jars filled with spooky treats and potions.
The best part about this project is that I didn’t have to make the labels, they’re from Target! Yup, good ol’ Target carries the American Crafts Halloween line in their scrapbook aisle. I have a post coming up sharing all of the fun products and some Halloween decor ideas using them. Today I’m sharing our apothecary jar display using sticker labels.
This project couldn’t be any easier. I bought jars at Hobby Lobby when they were half off a few weeks ago, filled them with creepy things, and added the labels.
The kids favorite is the Frog’s Breath Potion bottle aka Glow in the dark Slime!
The small bottle has raisins for the “cockroaches”…..yuck! I’m a little traumatized and may not be able to eat raisins until the jars are put away. The large bottle is filled with Witch Tonic aka grape kool-aid. I love the dark color of the kool-aid, it’s perfect for our potion bottle.
In another bottle I added green moss, because moss can be creepy for Halloween. Plus is was the only thing I could fit in the bottle. Don’t you love the shape and stopper? It’s perfect for Halloween!
The bottle in the center has plastic spiders inside. My oldest son keeps telling the little miss that they’re real which makes her hesitant to get near the display. What is it with older brothers? :)
Check out our glow in the dark slime recipe to make for your own apothecary jars. This also makes a great Halloween party favor or for kids to hand out to their friends.
Thanks for stopping by!
now I need to go to Hobby Lobby!
They have the cutest jars, I have to stay away during their 50% off sales! :)
Those are pretty spooky! The raisin thing gets me, too! haha! My kiddos would LOVE these! :)
Ahhh! I love everything about these apothecary jars! And the photos… stunning as always!
I love this! Great idea on using the scrapbook labels! I try to avoid that aisle at Target because I spend too much money, but I may have to make an exception… :)
Pinning!
Love these! They look so good. Pinned!
I want to get my hands on some of those labels from American Craft at Target. I may have to take a trip to Target this weekend, and Hobby Lobby for jars. Thanks for the inspiration, you are so creative. ;o)
So fun! They would be a perfect addition to our annual Halloweenie Roast this year.
These are so cute/creepy. Love the labels from Target. Purchased labels sure makes it easy!
LOVE IT! These are so darn adorable!
Very fun! And a little creepy…if you’re averse to bugs like me. :) Am I too old to play with slime? I could say I’m making it for my goddaughter. There’s a good plan. :)
Have a great weekend!
Kelly
How did you get the labels to stick properly?? Last year I got some labels from Michaels and I used the stick glue and sprayed them with a high gloss sealer. They still want to peel up a little at the corners. HELP
