Maple Glazed Apple Doughnuts

Can you feel it? Fall is in the air! The chilly breeze, pumpkin scented candles, and colorful leaves are here. Ready for another Fall dessert? Today I’m sharing maple glazed apple doughnuts, as well as a recipe for cinnamon sugar apple doughnuts!

Maple Glazed Apple Doughnuts Recipe I sit here staring at the screen reminiscing of enjoying these tasty doughnuts. I’m already looking forward to making them again. The dough is a basic cake doughnut base with finely chopped apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The real star of the show is the maple glaze. It’s a pure maple syrup glaze made with confectioners sugar and milk for dipping consistency. We made cinnamon sugar apple doughnuts as well. Some like the maple glaze and others prefer cinnamon sugar topping so it’s a win-win.

Next week we’re headed to Apple Hill in Northern California, the home of the most delicious apple desserts I have ever tasted. I can hardly wait! We have a picnic in this small, beautiful park that rests on a hill. We pull out a large blanket, spread out our picnic food, and watch the kids run up and down the hill. You’ll find me with my camera in hand capturing beautiful memories I will always treasure.

Grab a hot cup of coffee and enjoy an apple doughnut this weekend. Add a classic cinnamon sugar topping or pure maple syrup glaze and enjoy!

I made these this morning-came out really great. I barely chilled them at all, but just patted them out w my hands and they were fine. Also, a note on the oil temp- I don’t have a thermometer. So my first ones came out really dark. I’d keep the flame really low if you’re unsure. Also, sprinkled some of the extra chopped apple on top of the glaze – really tasty! Thanks so much for the recipe.
