How to make coffee sugar scrub cubes – exfoliate dry skin while reducing the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks with this easy coffee sugar scrub cube recipe.
Swimsuit season has definitely arrived in California. Over the last few weeks I’ve been taking extra care of exfoliating my dry skin and moisturizing with homemade body butters (I’m excited to share an amazing body butter recipe with you next week). I’m currently obsessed with using my homemade coffee sugar scrub. As I mentioned in my coffee scrub tutorial, the scrub helps remove dry skin cells and nourish your skin with the almond oil. The coffee also helps eliminate the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. When applied to skin, coffee provides temporary cellulite reduction by improving circulation. This helps make your skin appear and feel smoother and firmer. Today I’m sharing a coffee sugar scrub cubes tutorial that’s perfect for summertime!
Sugar scrub cubes are a combination of soap and sugar scrub. The melted soap helps “glue” the sugar together so that you have tiny sugar scrub bars that lightly lather and exfoliate at the same time. These don’t necessarily dissolve right away; sometimes you can get a few uses out of each cube. To enhance the amazing coffee scent I’ve added orange essential oil. It might sound odd but trust me the combination is amazing! I’ve included Amazon affiliate links below to where you can find most of the supplies I used.
Supplies:
1/2 cup grated Goats Milk Soap Base
1/4 cup Sweet Almond Oil
20 drops Orange Essential Oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1-2 tablespoons coffee grounds
Step one: Melt soap in a double boiler (I use a large pot and 4-cup Pyrex cup).
Step two: while soap is melting, mix sugar and coffee in a large bowl. Have your mold ready nearby, once the soap and sugar are mixed it will quickly begin to harden.
Step three: remove soap from heat; stir in almond oil and orange essential oil.
Step four: mix liquid ingredients with sugar. Quickly press mixture into mold; allow cubes to harden for 3-4 hours before removing from mold.

This is interesting, thanks for sharing.
Could you please tell me where to get the cube molds from? Thank you so much for sharing and I can’t wait to try it!!
Totally loving this! Love the smell of coffee, pinning!
are the coffee grounds used grounds or straight from the can? Thanks.
Hi Angie, you can use both! The scrub isn’t affected if they’re used. Hope that helps!
How long will this recipe stay fresh?
This recipe looks heavenly! Does anyone know if I could substitute liquid castile soap instead of the goat’s milk soap? I’m afraid it won’t properly harden in the molds but I have alooooot of Dr. Bronners :)
Can you substitute liquid Castile soap for the soap base? Thanks.
Thank you so much for this recipe! I love the smell of coffee and I love scrubs. This will be surely my next one to try.
How long is the shelf life for these?
