4th of July party favor baskets for kids – keep kids entertained while they wait for the parade or big fireworks show with this patriotic party favor basket.
Summertime means late nights playing outside with friends, backyard barbecues, living poolside, and of course a big 4th of July celebration halfway through summer break. This month’s Michaels Makers theme is celebrations! From paper crafts, party goods and baking supplies to new outdoor lighting, glass and floral, Michaels is your DIY destination for all of your summer celebrations. I’ve always enjoyed putting together treat bags and party favors for the kids so I was excited to work on an easy idea to share with you. It’s fun to gather small items the kids will enjoy to celebrate the occasion, like these berry basket patriotic party favors. They’re perfect for a 4th of July party or to give each child before the parade.
Supplies:
White baskets
Ribbon
Crinkle shreds
Sunglasses
Necklace
Bubbles,
Snaps
Poppers
Tattoos
Pop rocks
Push pop
I decided to keep things simple by gluing patriotic ribbon around the white baskets. You can find the baskets in the Recollections party aisle at Michaels. I’m also a big fan of their unfinished wood berry baskets, which would work great for s’mores!
I then filled the baskets with crinkle shreds, small toys and treats. You can add things like chalk, snaps (my kids love these), party poppers, confetti, bubbles, patriotic tattoos or stickers, necklaces, and glow sticks. It’s always easy to find 4th of July party supplies around this time of year.
We plan to give these to the kids right before the parade starts. My husband and I will be running a 5 mile race that morning right before the parade, so I’m hoping their little patriotic baskets will hold their interest while they wait with grandma.
