Tulip Flower Bath Bombs – how to make tulip flower-shaped bath bombs with moisturizing coconut oil and lavender essential oil.
Spring always inspires me to start creating new projects and recipes. Between traveling and a lot of behind the scenes work this winter, I haven’t had a lot of time to work on projects. I’m definitely ready to get back into the swing of things. Recently my daughter asked if we could make bath bombs together and it was just what I needed. I’m always up for making bath bombs, especially enjoying them at the end of a long day. I asked what kind of bath bomb she had in mind and she requested flower bath bombs. Luckily, I had this tulip mold from last year that was perfect for making bath bombs. Here’s how you can make your own Tulip Flower Bath Bombs for Easter, Mother’s Day and birthday gifts. Tulip Bath Bomb
Supplies:
Tulip flower mold <– it’s actually a chocolate covered cookie mold!
½ cup Citric acid
1 cup Baking soda
¼ cup Epsom salt
¼ cup Cornstarch
½ teaspoon Cosmetic pigment powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil, room temperature
15 drops lavender essential oil
witch hazel in a small spray bottle
Quick video tutorial on how to make bath bombs
- In a large bowl, combine citric acid, baking soda, Epsom salt, cornstarch, and cosmetic pigment. Note: if using multiple colors, combine dry ingredients first then separate into different bowls before adding pigment.
- In a small cup, combine liquid coconut oil and lavender essential oil. Stir into dry mixture.
- Lightly spray witch hazel until bath bomb mixture can hold its shape when squeezed together in your fist (see video above).
- Firmly press bath bomb mixture into the mold. Allow drying overnight before flipping mold over and carefully pressing bath bombs out.
My daughter was so happy with the way they turned out! I plan to make more for Mother’s Day, maybe in a variety of essential oil scents and colors.
