Halloween is right around the corner! Put in a scary Halloween movie and enjoy this quick and easy Monster Popcorn Munch.

Halloween Treats

If I’m being honest here I really don’t like scary movies, quite terrified of them actually. I’m such a chicken when it comes to spooky movies with ghosts, any kind of gore, vampires…well except when it’s Edward Cullen. :) But when it comes to spooky kid movies? Oh, I’m all over that! We love watching the 13 days of Halloween movies and anything we can find on Netflix.

Every Friday we have movie night and during October you can usually find us enjoying this Monster Munch popcorn watching Halloween movies. We love making this candy filled popcorn because it’s so easy to make and you can add any mixings you’d like. During Christmas time we usually toss the popcorn with white chocolate then add white & red peppermint Andies and Christmas M&M’s to it..mmm so good! This popcorn is so versatile for just about any flavor and color theme you’d like. This year we added the Candy Corn M&M’s..yum!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 c orange candy melts
  • 1/2 c black candy melts
  • 1/2 c candy corn M&M's
  • 1/2 c candy corn
  • edible monster eyes

Instructions

  • Step one: cover a 13x9 baking sheet with waxed paper. Make popcorn and lay a single layer on covered baking sheet.
  • Step two: melt candy melts in separate bowls over a double boiler or in the microwave. Stir frequently until completely melted.
  • Step three: pour candy melts into disposable piping bags or thick ziploc bags. Use a napkin or towel to hold the bag if it's too hot. Snip off the tip of the bag and drizzle candy melts onto popcorn. I usually drizzle the black candy melts first, add the candy, then drizzle the orange candy melts on top. We used about 1 tablespoon of edible eyes (found at Hobby Lobby). Allow to cool then break apart and enjoy!

This would also make a great treat for kids to hand out to classmates. You could place them in a clear bag add a printable tag and you have a quick and easy Halloween treat!

I’m with you when it comes to scary movies. The Nightmare Before Christmas is about all I can handle! I’m going to try the Monster Munch. It’s calorie-free, right?

This is such a fun idea. I love the little eyes you put in. I’m sure I will be testing this out on my daughters preschool class.

I want to make this. I need to know what are the orange & black candy melts? And where do I find them? Thank you for naming Hobby Lobby as the location for the edible eyeballs.
