DIY Pumpkin Spice Candle – how to make pumpkin spice candles for fall. This candle makes a great handmade gift idea!
Fall is upon us! The start of fall brings pumpkin spice drinks, treats and scented candles. Are you jumping on board every year? It seems people either love pumpkin spice or want nothing to do with it. Lighting pumpkin spice scented candles makes our home feel like fall, even if our California weather thinks otherwise. There’s nothing better than snuggling with a warm blanket, lighting a candle and watching our favorite holiday movies. Today I thought I would share how easy it is to make your own Pumpkin Spice Candles.

Supplies:
Soy wax flakes (find them HERE)
Pumpkin Spice fragrance (I LOVE this set! I use a combination of pumpkin pie & gingerbread)
Glass jar
Candle wick
Hot glue
Step one: prepare your candle jar by gluing a wick to the center of the jar.
Step two: melt soy wax flakes in a large microwave-safe bowl. I used about 5 cups of wax to fit one mid-size and two small jars, you can always melt more if needed. I like to use a large pyrex measuring cup. You could also melt the wax on the stove using the double boiler method. Stir every 30 seconds until wax is completely melted. It will only take a minute or two in the microwave.
Step three: stir in fragrance oil. I’m using a combination of pumpkin pie and gingerbread; about 15 drops of pumpkin and 10 of gingerbread. This scent combo is incredible! I think the ginger enhances the pumpkin scent to create the perfect fall blend.
Step four: pour wax into jar and let the candle sit for several hours or overnight. Tip: use a pencil or small dowel to keep the wick in place. Once the candle is ready, trim wick to ¼ inch.
