Double chocolate Oreo milkshake recipe with a cookie crumb layer and mini chocolate chips.
With the weather warming up I’ve been doing a lot less baking and enjoying more frozen treats with the kids. Everything from smoothies, homemade popsicles, to milkshakes have been mixed in our blender lately. You guys, it’s 102 all week! I can’t even think about turning on the oven for dinner let alone to bake dessert. With that in mind we’ve been utilizing the grill and eating al fresco most evenings. Instead of baking desserts the kids and I have been trying new milkshake recipes. This is one of our favorites, a double chocolate Oreo milkshake with a cookie crumb layer and chocolate chips mixed into the shake.
The Mr. used to work in an ice cream shop in high school so he considers himself a pro at making milkshakes. He’s always up for trying new shakes and making the kids some of his favorites. Needless to say we are quite fond of milkshakes around here. The best thing about them is they’re so easy to make. You can make them as simple as mixing milk and ice cream together or creating your own concoctions with your favorite ingredients. For this Oreo milkshake recipe I added mini chocolate chips right into the blender to compliment the Oreo cookies. It’s a chocolate lovers dream! Oh and let’s not forget the Oreo crumb layer at the bottom..yum! The texture it adds is the best part when you get to the bottom of your glass.
