Easy fourth of July party decorating ideas with white hanging lanterns and patriotic paper medallions.

Fourth of July PartyHey friends! I’m so excited to share my fourth of July party ideas with you today. We recently hosted a mini backyard BBQ/Summer kick-off party for our close friends. I wanted to create a table display for the party and with the fourth of July quickly approaching it fit the theme perfectly. In preparation for our backyard bash I headed over to Pier 1 for outdoor decorating essential. Pier 1 has a fabulous outdoor entertaining collection out this Summer. The colors are bright, colorful, and festive for every celebration. With a mix of classic outdoor entertaining pieces and a little DIY you can easily put together a patriotic party display.

One of my must-have items from Pier 1 are their lanterns. I’ve collected several over the years and always look forward to the new styles they come out with. My latest addition is this rustic white lantern with rhinestone embellishments. Seriously you guys, I’m obsessed with this lantern. I plan to use it as a centerpiece for our dining table.

Fourth of July Party DecorI associate the fourth of July with carnation flowers. They’re perfect for brightening up a table. I used a vintage blue mason jar as a vase to fill with red and white carnations. I also added a few sprigs of baby’s breath and glitter picks from the craft store.

Patriotic Party Ideas - glass Coke soda bottlesBy using a white cabinet as a table I was able to use colorful decorations that really stand out against the white. The patriotic paper medallions were an inexpensive way to add color and really bring forth the patriotic theme.

Patriotic Paper Medallions Party DecorThe white hanging paper lanterns might have been my favorite decoration. The kids loved seeing them glow at night. Of course Madi insisted they were the floating lanterns from Tangled and is now carrying one every evening around the house.

White hanging lanternsThis is my new favorite serving utensil set! I can’t get over the unique design of the wooden utensils. The lady that helped me at my local Pier 1 said they can’t keep them in stock because people are constantly calling to see if they’re in. It was pure luck that the last set that they had just received from a shipment the day prior was out on a table display. I’ll definitely use these for all our outdoor parties this summer.

Wooden Serving Utensils - outdoor entertainingI picked up a set of these fabulous navy blue and white plates and chargers. I can see myself using the plates over and over again throughout the summer. They’ll be the perfect for enjoying a meal pool-side without the worry of the plate shattering. For the table display I used the charger and plate under the salad bowl to add color.
