Hello friends! Today I’m partnering with Martha Stewart Living and Chocolat Frey, Switzerland’s no. 1 chocolate brand, to share with you a fun Galentine’s party I hosted. Have you heard of Galentine’s Day? It originated from a Parks & Rec episode where Leslie Knope throws her annual Galentine’s Day party. It’s become a popular term and way to celebrate your friendships. According to Leslie, it’s a day where ladies celebrate ladies by gathering together the day before Valentine’s Day. They celebrate with breakfast foods but I thought it would be fun to host a small Galentine’s party with a couple of my closest friends with a candy and dessert bar!
A friend of mine recently had a baby a few months ago and as our families grow, it’s harder to get together as frequently as we used to. We’ve been friends for over 15 years and it’s a little mind boggling to think of how much we have shared together over the years. She’s like a sister to me and one of the most valued relationships I have. I wanted to put together a simple Galentine’s party to get a chance for us and a couple other close friends to catch up and enjoy a day to ourselves. Is there anything better than laughing with friends while enjoying authentic premium Swiss chocolate, coffee and dessert? I don’t believe there is.
Galentine’s Party Ideas
Putting together a tablescape is pretty easy when dessert is on your mind. I wanted to keep it simple by adding flowers down the center and layering desserts on cake stands.I used two small Martha Stewart Collection cake stands to display these beautiful Chocolat Frey Pralines.
The Chocolat Frey Finest Assorted Pralines box is filled with a variety of decadent Swiss chocolates. I replaced the chocolate on the mini stands as needed and found that we quickly worked our way through the entire box by the end of the night.
I also filled a small dish with Chocolat Frey Napsli miniature dark chocolate bars.
Using premade madeleines from a local bakery I melted chocolate to dip half of the cakes in and topped them with pretty valentine sprinkles. While my husband took the kids out during the party, they were able to sneak a couple of madeleines and they loved them!
Of course we had a little cake at the end.
If you’re looking for a high quality chocolate bar to give this Valentine’s Day, the Crunchy Nut bars are sure to please. The Blond Crunchy Almond bar is incredible! It’s caramelized white chocolate with whole roasted almonds. Simply delicious and perfect for adding to gift baskets or wrapping with a bow and valentine card. You could even add a pretty tag with the Martha Stewart heart punch.
If you’ve followed my blog for a while you know I love giving coffee mug gifts. I put together this Galentine gift filled with chocolate and treats for my friends to pamper themselves with. The inside is filled with Chocolat Frey Napsli mini chocolate bars, a Chocobloc bar, face mask, lip scrub and bath bomb. It’s the perfect gift for friends, sisters, coworkers or anyone else you consider your galentine.
Overall the day was filled with sweet treats, laughter and some pretty fond memories of our college years. It made me realize how much I miss getting together as often as we used to, but I’m glad despite everything we have going on in our lives, we can pick right back up as if we were still in our teens. Happy Galentine’s Day, friends!
