Create a Haunted House Pumpkin Diorama with tiny spooky decorations, complete with a skeleton walkway, candy corn trees and tombstones. Can you believe we are halfway through September already? Halloween is right around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited! This year I promised the kids we would build a mini Halloween village. I tend to get caught up with keeping décor neutral, usually black and white for Halloween. The kids asked for spooky, kid-friendly decorations this Halloween season and I plan to deliver. This month for my Michaels Makers post I made a Haunted House Pumpkin Diorama to tie in with the Halloween village theme.
The majority of the items I used are part of the Tiny Treasures collection where you can create mini villages and fairy gardens. Michaels has some seriously cute fall and Halloween decor this year! Check out the latest HERE. The Halloween collection is flying off the shelves at my local store! I had to grab a few extra pieces to include in our village. Today I’m sharing how to make your own Halloween Pumpkin Diorama.

Supplies:
Pumpkin
Lighted Haunted House
Moss
Tiny decoration pieces: tombstones, light and candy corn trees
Black cake stand
Step one: The first thing I did was hot glue moss to the front of the pumpkin. Be careful with this step! I tend to use a pencil or wooden dowel to press the moss down to avoid hot glue burns. I also added a skull and crow figurine to the top of the pumpkin.
Step two: next add Spanish moss to your cake stand. Tip: take the moss out of the bag and gently shake excess into a garbage bag to reduce some of the mess. Place your haunted house inside the pumpkin. Mine came pre-cut, also from the Tiny Treasures collection.
Step three: decorate your Halloween display with tiny Halloween decorations. The haunted house and lamp post have a switch to turn on/off, which is fun for nighttime. I also added a couple of candy corn trees, tombstones and a skeleton walkway. I didn’t get a great picture of this but it’s my favorite part!
My kids were so excited to light the house and lamp post at night. We plan to work on our Halloween village next week. I’ll have to share pictures of the final display!
