DIY The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag – create your own Jack Skellington bag to carry books, groceries or use for trick or treating!

DIY The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag - create your own Jack Skellington bag to carry books, groceries or use for trick or treating!Hi friends! Are you excited about Fall and Halloween being right around the corner? This year I’m incredibly excited to start working on projects a little early. I’m starting to see halloween decor in stores and its inspiring me to start creating new projects to share with you guys. I’m going to kickoff the season with a The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag I made for my daughter. This post is part of the Expressions Vinyl challenge and I would LOVE for you guys to vote for No. 8 over on the EV blog.

My daughter is a BIG fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas. She loves Jack Skellington and wears her Handmade Jack Skellington Ears all year long. This year we’re hoping to make it to Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland so I thought a Jack inspired trick or treat bag would make a great addition.

Supplies
Expressions Vinyl Black Heat Transfer Vinyl
Cricut
Grey Tote Bag
Pom Pom trim
Iron

Step one: design or purchase an SVG file (I found mine on Etsy) and upload into the Cricut design space. I sized mine to about 12 inches high to fit a 13- inch bag. Be sure to lay the heat transfer vinyl shiny side down and mirror the image. The last step is crucial! Cricut makes it really easy. All you need to do is click the mirror button right before you send it to cut.DIY The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag - create your own Jack Skellington bag to carry books, groceries or use for trick or treating!

Step two: remove excess vinyl using a weeding tool. This helps remove the small, intricate cuts from your design.DIY The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag - create your own Jack Skellington bag to carry books, groceries or use for trick or treating!

Step three: arrange your vinyl on the bag and iron or use a heat press. Hot glue pom pom trim around the top of the bag and you’re done!DIY The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag - create your own Jack Skellington bag to carry books, groceries or use for trick or treating!

This tote bag was really easy to make in under 20 minutes. My daughter can’t wait to use it for Trick or Treating!DIY The Nightmare Before Christmas Bag - create your own Jack Skellington bag to carry books, groceries or use for trick or treating!
