Easy 2-ingredient peppermint whipped cream.
With the cooler weather replacing our high California temperatures, we’ve had one thing on our mind..hot chocolate! Given the chance my kids would drink hot chocolate even in 110 degree weather. They love a warm cup of cheer to snuggle next to the fire with or during movie nights. While I usually prefer to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea, lately I’ve indulged in too many to count cups of chocolatey goodness. We have a hot chocolate bar (I’m hoping to get it photographed soon to share with you next week) where the kids can add in their favorite toppings. Some like a plain cup while others need to be watched carefully or they’ll end up with a peppermint-caramel-marshmallow-chocolate syrup-whipped cream hot chocolate. I won’t mention any names but, ahem he’s a certain three year-old that’s really hard to reason with, and he sure does love his hot chocolate. Recently I craved a peppermint hot chocolate, only I wanted a slight peppermint flavor, without being too overpowering. The idea inspired this easy 2-ingredient peppermint whipped cream.
Did you know you can make flavored whipped cream with your favorite coffee creamer flavors? For this recipe I used International Delight peppermint chocolate truffle creamer and heavy whipping cream. The end result is a thick peppermint whipped cream that’s perfect for topping hot chocolate. Next on my list is caramel whipped cream and white chocolate raspberry. I have yet to try the peppermint whipped cream on dessert recipes but I’m thinking it would be delicious on a chocolate silk pie or pancakes.
