Rolo Muddy Muddies made with salted caramel and mini Rolo candy.Â
A few months ago we started a new activity with the kids where they take turns picking a dessert recipe to make over the weekend. They enjoy looking through cookbooks or remaking some of their favorite recipes when its their turn to pick. Throughout all of this I’ve been taking pictures of them with their recipe choice. I also have a running word doc of the recipe, date, and any memorable notes (funny quotes, mishaps, etc.) I want to write down. At the end of the year I plan to make a dessert recipe book to give my mom and mother-in-law for Christmas (if you’re reading this mom and Jan pretend to ignore this). We’re having a fun time trying new recipes and documenting our memories. The little guy is the funniest to bake with. He’s fascinated with cracking eggs open so when it’s his turn he’ll ask if the recipe includes eggs. Needless to say I have to make sure we crack the eggs over a small bowl separately to avoid getting eggshells mixed in. :)
Wihtout a doubt Madilynn always wants to try a new muddy buddies (puppy chow) recipe to make. Since its one of the easiest treats to make I’m always on board with her requests. We usually head to the candy aisle and I let her pick whatever candy she wants to mix in. That’s the great thing about muddy buddies you can mix just about anything in, cookies, candy, caramel..anything and they’re always delicious.
This Rolo muddy buddies recipe is made with a salted caramel topping, dark chocolate, and Rolo mini bites.

These look great! I’m not sure how I have made it to this point in my life without ever hearing of a muddy buddy, but I definitely have to make this!
Thanks for sharing,

Made these last night for movie night with friends – was a big hit. Thanks.
??? Salted caramel topping? where do I find this? By the cake mixes? By candy? Comes in a tub, bag or bottle? Thx!
