School Supply Organization Cart - easy organization ideas for art and school supplies

Happy Monday, my friends! Today is the first day of school for the kids and even though I enjoyed having them home for winter break, I’m ready to get back to our routine. The beginning of the year always encourages me to organize our home. Over the past week I’ve been decluttering and reorganizing every space. I’m trying to work on a new area every few days. With school starting back up I wanted to tackle the kid’s school and art supplies. We have a couple drawers dedicated to art supplies that the kids can use for homework or when they want to work on a craft project. Unfortunately they end up looking more like junk drawers with no sense of organization. To combat that problem I’ve created an art and school supply organization cart filled with all of our essential supplies like crayons, paint, colorful pens, construction paper and brightly colored Sharpie markers from Staples.

Well I ended up loving that cart so much I went back for a second one along with more organizing containers and baskets. It’s perfect for keeping things tidy and great for moving around the house.

School Supply Organization

To keep school supplies organized I’m using a small caddy with divided sections. It has a handle so the kids can easily take it to their rooms, kitchen table, etc. This will hopefully workout a lot better than a drawer.

I plan to switch the selection up every week or two.School Suppy OrganizationI’m using a small pink bin to keep glitter, pom poms, chenille stems and scissors in. They’re hidden so it helps keep things tidy without the clutter of supplies all over the place. I’m also using storage boxes for paper.

Since it’s a brand new year and we’re halfway into the school year we wanted to give a little gift to my daughter’s teacher. This Sharpie gift makes a great back to school or teacher appreciation gift. We wrapped Sharpie markers with twine then added a printable gift tag that says, “Here’s to a sharp new year!” You can download the PRINTABLE TAG HERE.Sharpie Teacher Gift Printable

Random question, I LOVE the teal caddy. Where did you find that cuteness?
