Craft Room Organization

How to organize craft supplies – easy craft room organization solutions for small spaces.

Craft Room Organization Ideas

Happy New Year, my friends! With a new year come new goals and resolutions. One of my goals this year is to declutter our entire house and simplify. I’ve spent the last week reducing my craft supplies by 75%. It’s a little shocking to see how much I’ve acquired over the years and really helped put things into perspective once I started organizing. My goal this year is to simplify the items in our home and to only keep the things that we actually use, instead of the “I might use that someday” items. My focus over the last week was to organize my craft space for the new Michaels Makers challenge – organization!

I may have mentioned before that I use my master bedroom as my craft space/office. It’s part of the reason why I wanted to reduce my craft supplies and organize the most essential tools I need. I started out by using craft supply organizers from Michaels. I was lucky to find a giant desk last year that stores supplies and has enough room to display organizers on top while leaving ample room to craft on. The desk also has cubbies on one side that I fill with chalkboard crates to store supplies in.

This cubby organizer is perfect for storing paint and washi tape. You can find it in the wood aisle, unfinished. I painted mine white then used bright colored paints to add color to the space. Craft Room Organization IdeasThis desk organizer is essential for storing pens, brushes, scissors, and other small tools. It allows me to quickly grab the tools I need while I’m crafting without digging through drawers.Craft Desk OrganizerI’m a big fan of the craft organizers (they’re half off right now). This one is great for markers and twine.Craft Room OrganizerI also stacked three organizers to create a “tower” or 6 drawers and two paper holders. The pulls also have a slot for labels so you can easily organize your supplies. By the way, these are really easy to put together.Craft Room OrganizersI saved my favorite for last….this beautiful faux wood turquoise cart. It’s absolutely beautiful in person and great for storing craft supplies on. You can even use it for parties or décor in other areas of your home. It’s part of the Cre8ted Spaces line now available at Michaels. The line has over 300 items in 4 coordinating colors. If you’re reading this today, on New Year’s, the entire line is half off this week!

Your craft room and supplies are beautifully organized. I have WAY too much stuff to make these units work since my craft room is a working studio. But I do love all the colors and textures against the crisp white. And of course when I go supply and idea shopping, Michaels is always on the list.
