Our family loves making s’mores! Having a fire pit in the backyard means we make it a yearly treat, not only during the summer or while camping. As the weather gets warmer (it’s 99 today!) we’re spending more time swimming, especially late in the evening. One of our favorite family activities is swimming at night with the pool lights on and making s’mores with every chocolate candy imaginable. I recently put together this easy S’mores Bar that was filled with Hershey’s chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows. We called it our “schools almost out celebration” but really any day is a s’mores day for us!
The key to creating a s’mores bar is having your ingredients easily accessible – no one wants to try to get graham crackers out of the package while their marshmallow is melting on the stick. Using paper treat holders I displayed the graham cracker squares ready to grab and use.

Our S’mores Bar included:
-Hershey’s Milk chocolate bars (we picked up a few of the 6 pack and the fun size)
-Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares
-Kraft’s Jet Puffed Marshmallows
-Mr. Goodbar
-Hershey’s Cookies N Crème
-Symphony chocolate bar
I think it’s safe to say the classic s’mores recipe is pretty darn perfect, but have you tried making them with other candy bars? Everyone has his or her own favorite and it’s great to have a variety available for everyone’s preference. This wooden cubby made the perfect holder to display our candy and graham crackers in. Another great option is a large serving tray to display your candy on.
Using items from around the house I made a paper banner and added these mini succulent plants to our s’mores bar.
A great way to have marshmallows easily available is to place them in a large glass jar. I used another jar to fill mini Hershey bars with. This way everything required to create your perfect s’mores treat is right where you need it. Your guest can grab their favorite candy bar, a skewer and roast away.
If you’re looking for another way to enjoy a s’mores treat try these S’mores Pops. I’ve been making these over 10 years and they’re definitely a kid-favorite around here. To make them you will need:
– marshmallows
– chocolate to melt
– crushed graham crackers (I like to put 10 crackers in the food processor)
– popsicle stick
Step one: melt chocolate over a double boiler. About a cup of chocolate is perfect for dipping the marshmallows in. Place marshmallows on stick
Step two: coat the marshmallows in chocolate then roll in graham cracker crumbs. Allow chocolate to set or enjoy while it’s still warm – this method is a little messy but so good!
