DIY Valentine’s Day mason jar giftsÂ
This post is brought to you by Expressions Vinyl.Â
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching! Have you noticed all the Valentine candy in stores? I’m trying to be good and avoid it as much as possible. It’s not working out very well #confessionsofacandylover. Luckily I have an excuse to pick up a few bags to work on some Valentine’s Day projects. Of course that means I’m slightly derailed from my diet..but what can ya do? :) Speaking of Valentine projects…I’m always thinking of easy holiday ideas to make for the kids and their teachers. This year I picked up a bunch of pink mason jars from the Target dollar spot to save for Valentine’s Day. I love these colored jars that you can keep as is or decorate with vinyl. I added glitter vinyl to the mason jars and filled them with candy to give as gifts.
Supplies:
Glitter vinyl
Pink Mason Jars
Transfer tape
Silhouette
This has to be one of the easiest gift ideas to make. I simply searched for Valentine shapes and sayings in the Silhouette store then resized to fit my jars. You could even type up a personal note or a teachers name if you plan to use them as Valentine’s Day gifts. If you don’t have a cutting machine you can use paper punches to cut out hearts and other small shapes.
The hardest part, if you can even call it that, is weeding out the tiny pieces of vinyl from your shapes. Once the excess vinyl has been removed use transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the jar.
I’m using my favorite glitter vinyl from Expression Vinyl in Fluorescent Pink and Silver.Â
This jar below might be my favorite! I found this jar in the Valentine’s aisle at Target. I love how the LOVE vinyl cutout looks against the conversation hearts. :)
