Finding Dory Party Ideas – easy Finding Dory treats, party favors, and decorations.
Hello friends! Do you know what today is? It’s Friday and Finding Dory is in theatres today! My kids have been waiting for this for a long time. We are big Disney Pixar fans, Finding Nemo being among our favorites. Every year we have a summer kick-off party to celebrate the end of the school year and this year I thought a Finding Dory party would be the perfect way to welcome summer. Today I’m sharing with you our Finding Dory party ideas including easy treats, party favors and decorations.

Supplies:
Cupcake Stand
Finding Dory Baking Cups
Finding Dory Icing Decorations
Fringe Garlands
Blue Rock Candy
Blue Sixlets Candy
Lanterns, pom poms, & star kit from Michaels
To display the cupcakes I used a Dory cupcake stand. Since the stand is made out of cardboard and the edges are exposed I thought it would be cute to add pom pom trim around the edges. I loved the way it turned out and am having a hard time getting rid of it now that our party is over.
The cupcakes were made with Dory cupcake wrappers and sprinkles (I found the sprinkles at Michaels).
This chocolate covered Dory popcorn will be on the blog soon! The kids loved the blue popcorn with mini Dory sprinkles.
We made jello cups and added a gummy octopus on top. My initial idea was to create ocean themed jello with gummy fish inside, but they sank to the bottom so this idea was a good alternative.
I have a few party favor ideas to share with you. First up are these mini gable boxes that you can fill with small toys or candy. To decorate the boxes I used a blue doily and stickers.
Another fun idea is to use cups to fill party goodies with. I added Dory themed crayons, bubbles, stickers, party blowers, a lollipop and shaker bookmark. I have a post going up on the Michaels blog all about Dory party favors; I’ll add a link as soon as it’s up!
Glitter slime makes a great party favor or party activity for kids to play with. You can find the tutorial for these cute fish bowl slime favors HERE.
I’m a big fan of easy, budget-friendly decorating. To keep things simple I made a crepe paper streamers backdrop similar to the one in our Little Mermaid Party. I then used a kit from Michaels that included paper lanterns, pom poms, fans and a star. The bottom of the table was decorated with fringe garlands.
The kids had a great time playing with the glitter slime and enjoying the treats we made. I picked up a Hank ring toss game and seashell-collecting game at Michaels that were a big hit! In addition to the games we played with water balloons and swam all afternoon. We had a great time and now we’re looking forward to seeing the movie in theatres!
Some of the party items were purchased with gift cards from Michaels as part of the Michaels Makers program. All opinions are my own.
