Black and white theme Halloween party ideas – Halloween treats, decorations and You’ve Been BOO’d gifts.
Can you feel it? Fall is in the air! We finally had a break from the heat here in California and the last few days have been perfect. Now that October is here it’s time to buckle down on choosing costumes, planning our pumpkin carving night, and hosting our annual Halloween party with friends! Today I’m sharing a Halloween party treat table with my favorite black & white theme. It’s filled with easy treats, decorations and of course plenty of candy. I’m also sharing a BOO It Forward kit idea to give friends, co-workers and neighbors this Halloween season.
When styling a party, I try to use the simplest decorating ideas I can think of. I like quick, easy, inexpensive décor that I can reuse to decorate for Halloween. Party decorations don’t have to be overwhelming. Look through your collection of Halloween supplies, you’ll often find hidden gems you more than likely forgot about.
For this party setup I wanted a backdrop that helped tie in my black & white theme. This is actually a printable I purchased last year and printed as an engineer print. You guys this thing is massive! I actually had to trim it to fit the frame and it only cost $6 to print. It’s now being displayed on my mantle.
Let’s talk about food! My party tables are always filled with plenty of treat options. This SNICKERS® Cheese Ball is one of my go-to party recipes. It’s easy to double the batch depending on the size of your party and can be served with apples or pretzels.
Snickers Cheese Ball
SNICKERS® Cheese Ball
Ingredients
- • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- • ¾ cup confectioners’ sugar
- • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- • 15 SNICKERS® Fun Size candy chopped, divided
Instructions
- • Beat cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
- • Add vanilla, confectioners and brown sugar to cream cheese; mix until well combined.
- • Stir in ½ cup chopped SNICKERS®
- • Scoop cream cheese mixture into clear wrap and shape into a ball. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- • On a large plate roll the cream cheese ball into remaining chopped SNICKERS. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
I couldn’t resist making these cookie eyeballs. To make them I used 1 cup of white candy melts, sandwich cookies, Life Savers® Gummies, M&M’s® and red icing. I dipped each cookie into the melted chocolate then immediately pressed a Life Savers® Gummies and M&M’s® candy on top. Once the chocolate set I added red lines around the eye.
Another go-to party treat is chocolate covered pretzel rods. These are simple yet always a favorite with the kids. Simply dip each pretzel rod in melted white chocolate then add Halloween sprinkles. Easy peasy!
For the main centerpiece I used a glittery black tree placed inside a ceramic cauldron. To give it an extra bit of flair I added glitter black and silver roses around the base. Since I plan to reuse the cauldron I didn’t glue anything in place, simply arranged everything inside and removed them after the party. This tree would also make a great centerpiece on a Halloween tablescape or on a mantle.
Use festive containers and bowls to display candy. How cute are those mini SNICKERS® inside the ghost treat holder?
I always like to give small party favors like these cauldron and skeleton treat buckets at the end of the party. They’re great for filling with candy and stickers.
Now let’s talk about a neighbor gifts or a “You’ve Been BOO’d” gift idea. First up, you will need a variety of candy to make these fun Halloween candy bouquets. I picked up several bags of our favorite fun size candy including M&M’s, SNICKERS®, Starburst®, Skittles®, and Twix® at Walmart. These inexpensive pumpkin buckets are great to use as a base for your candy bouquet. You can find all of the supplies I used at Walmart, including the Halloween tissue paper and stickers in our BOO kit.
How to make a Halloween Candy Bouquet
Supplies:
Pumpkin treat bucket
Candy
Wooden skewers
Tape
Styrofoam block
Hot glue
Tissue paper
Halloween Stickers
Step one: Trim your Styrofoam to fit inside the treat bucket. Hot glue in place.
Step two: tape skewers to the back of each candy piece. Trim skewers to fit the size of your treat bucket. I trimmed about 2-4 inches off.
Step three: Gather a piece of tissue paper, folding it accordion style. I’m using this fun Halloween print from American Greetings®. Tape the tissue paper to a skewer.
Step four: arrange your tissue paper and candy inside the Styrofoam block. Add small sheets of stickers in between the candy.
Optional: add a fringe tissue paper garland around your pumpkin to hide the visible skewers.
Have you created a BOO It Forward gift before? This is our first year and the kids are really looking forward to surprising their friends with the pumpkin candy bouquets.
Sweet! I love the black and white theme with a pop of spooky green. #client
