DIY Black & White Glam Pumpkin – faux pumpkin decorated with rhinestones and a witch hat.
It may not be September yet, but I’m excited to get started on our Halloween decor! This black and white glam pumpkin was made using Americana multi-surface paint and a faux white pumpkin from Michaels.
Every year I find that my Halloween decor style slightly changes. Some years I like black and orange, others black, purple, and green. Last year I began leaning towards classic black and white. I love the simplicity of the color combo and that it’s eerily creepy in a way. I go back and forth between a rustic, old black and white and a glam black and white with lots of bling!
Black and White Glam Pumpkin
Supplies:
- Americana Multi-Surface Paint (in Black Tie)
- White faux pumpkin from Michaels
- Boo! rhinestones letters (Recollections brand)
- paper mache hat
- hot glue
- Embellishments:
- ribbon
- feather with glitter picks
I started by painting two coats of Americana Black Tie multi-surface paint on my paper mache hat. I really like the satin finish, it has the perfect amount of sheen.
While the paint dried I applied the rhinestone Boo! letters on the pumpkin.
Then once the hat dried I glued tulle trim around the base, tied a ribbon bow, and used a few glitzy picks to embellish it (the picks are also from Michaels). Love the little feathers and pop of purple in the mix!
