Hi friends! I can’t believe it’s already February. The past few weeks have flown by and now Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. The kids have a 3-day weekend that week so we plan to have a fun day with them. I’m planning a Valentine lunch the day before with heart shaped fruit, chocolate covered strawberries, heart shaped pizza (a tradition we’ve been doing for the last 10 years) and heart marshmallow brownie bites. The kids love festive heart shaped foods so it should be fun. Another treat I’m considering making are these heart shaped chocolate covered OREOS. We recently made them and they were a big hit!Just a heads up – I recently ordered several molds so you’ll be seeing a lot of holiday themed chocolate covered OREOS soon! These are easy to make and there’s a large variety of candy melt colors to choose from. I used this 3 Layer Heart Mold
for Valentine’s Day but you could use them for every occasion – birthday parties, baby showers, weddings…the possibilities are endless! I’m also very impressed with how sturdy the molds are. They are not flimsy or difficult to remove your treats from. I can’t recommend these enough!
To make them you need to melt each color individually and let it harden before adding a new layer. When you’re adding the final layer of chocolate you place an OREO cookie in the middle and cover the rest of the mold. Pop it into the freezer for 10 minutes and you’re done! If you decide to refrigerate them to help the chocolate harden, I suggest letting the mold sit on the counter for a little bit. On my first attempt I popped them right out of the mold and with a couple the first layer of chocolate separated from the rest. If it’s at room temperature you shouldn’t have that problem.
