DIY Minion Easter Eggs – die dyed Easter eggs with moveable eyes and string to resemble Minion goggles.

DIY Minion Eggs

Minions Easter Eggs

Easter is quickly approaching and our kids are getting really excited about decorating Easter eggs. In fact, my daughter has been asking to dye eggs for weeks. It’s one of my favorite traditions to do with them every year and I think I’m just as excited as they are. This year we started a little early so we could share our creations with you! Our first egg-decorating tutorial is Minion Easter Eggs.

how to make Minions Easter Eggs

These dyed Minion Eggs are made with PAAS egg decorating kits, moveable eyes, black string, and a sharpie pen. My kids love the way they turned out! The whole time we made these my kids kept singing the Minion banana song and it’s been stuck in my head for days! If you’ve never heard of it check it out on YouTube, the kids will love it. How to make Minion Easter Eggs

Supplies:

  • Egg Dye kit
  • Vinegar
  • Moveable eyes
  • Black String (we used black jute)
  • Glue
  • Sharpie

    Egg Dyeing ideas

Step one: prepare dye in individual cups. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar into a cup and drop dye tablet; all the tablet to dissolve. Pour ¼ cup water of room temperature water in the to dye. (Note: I slightly adjusted the instructions from the kit).

dyeing eggsStep two: dip half of the egg into the yellow dye. You can see in the picture that I only filled the dye cup enough to cover half of the egg. The longer the egg sits in the dye the brighter the color will be. Allow the dye to dry and dip the other half in the blue dye.

Aren’t they adorable? This would be a great idea for hollowed out eggs so they last a long time.

These eggs are adorable. This sounds like a silly question, but how do you prevent the egg from falling over in the cup? I only want to dye half of each egg blue and yellow like shown in your pics. Thank you!

Hi Crystal! I’m visiting from Show and Tell Link Party on Sugar Bee Crafts! These are adorable, and all of your eggs are equally so! I love how simple and cute these are! You are a genius for thinking to make eggs into minions! I want to decorate eggs with my hubby for Easter soon, but want to do something more fun and creative than just dipping the eggs in and out and your blog could be an answer to my prayers! It would be such a fun date night for us to decorate minion eggs!

So cute!! I love these so much. I want to make a few purple ones with a little tuft of crazy hair to mix in the bowl. How fun.
