This hot cocoa mason jar gift with a silver doily and die cut snowflakes makes a great last minute neighbor or teacher gift.  Hot Cocoa Mason Jar Gift

I feel like I’m stuck between pulling out all the holly jolly Christmas decorations and get to craftin’ or enjoying this last part of the most beautiful season. Thanksgiving also happens to be my favorite holiday, which doesn’t get nearly as much attention in the crafting world as others do. So while I’m sharing a Christmas craft with you today know that I still have a few things in the works for Thanksgiving. But seriously, It’s getting harder to resist entering Christmas mode with every store filled with holiday decor. I’m this close to putting Elf on while enjoying a hot cup of cocoa filled to the brim with marshmallows.

Speaking of hot cocoa doesn’t it make a great handmade Christmas gift? Hot cocoa mason jar gifts are some of my favorite to give. This mason jar is embellished with a silver Martha Stewart doily and multi-surface decoupage. I then added die cut snowflakes and twine. The mason jar is filled with hot cocoa, marshmallows and mint M&M’s. Have you tried them? They’re delish!

Supplies:
Martha Stewart Decoupage
Stewart Decoupage Paper Doilies
Martha Stewart Crafts decoupage brush
mason jar
Snowflake Dies (similar)

Martha Stewart Decoupage doilies

To make the jar applied a thin layer of decoupage to the front and placed my doily centered. I then applied another layer of decoupage to help seal it in place.  You could technically be done here and tied a red bow around the center of the jar. I had some snowflakes already die cut from last year so I glued those to the center of the doily.

Doily mason jarThis new decoupage formula is dishwasher safe and available at Michaels Stores or on Plaid’s online store. Plaid sent me a box full of Martha Stewart products to try and I have plenty of ideas using their new decoupage glues. There’s even a glitter decoupage that the kids can’t wait to try. I sense handmade Christmas ornaments in our future!

These are so pretty! I’d be hesitant to use it…but then I’d remember how delicious hot cocoa is and tear right in.

What did you use to die cut the snowflakes?
