Easy slow cooker pot roast recipe with Kraft recipe makers.

Pot Roast RecipeAs school approaches and our busy routines are back into play, dinners can seem exhausting to think about it. During the week I often rely on quick meals like salads and taco Tuesday (one of our favorites!). So when I had the opportunity to create a meal with the new Kraft Recipe Makers I was excited to see how they could help our busy weekday dinners. I found the Recipe Makers at Walmart near the pasta aisle. My store only had two of the flavors and we decided to try the New England pot roast.

I’ll admit that I have only used my slow cooker a handful of times since we received it as a wedding gift. Every time I do use it I wonder why its not used more often! Slow cooker meals are great for busy schedules because I literally threw everything it the slow cooker, ran errands, and came home to a warm meal ready to be served. I plan to start incorporating more slow cooker recipes into our weekly meals, especially with the cooler months ahead of us.

The Kraft Recipe makers came with an herb sauce that you add in the beginning and a gravy you stir in for the last 15 minutes.

We found that the herb sauce was a little overpowering for the kids. The next time we use the pot roast recipe maker I plan to use less of the herb sauce and gravy and replace the fluid with water if needed. I think this will help tone down the flavor of the herbs. A moderation I did try last minute is I added 1 cup of chopped celery. I liked the texture of the carrots, soft potatoes, and celery with the sauce.

I love rustic slow cooker meals, they have a way of just warming the soul! I tried the New England Pot Roast Recipe Maker and couldn’t believe how flavorful it was; I’m sure it could also be converted into a hearty stew too!
