My son’s birthday is coming up, which happens to be on Halloween. It’s always been fun for him to have a birthday on Halloween and since it’s a holiday we always try to make it a little extra special. We typically have two birthday parties for him, one big and one small on his actual birthday. We’re still working out the details but this year he’s really excited to have his friends over. One of them will be a combination of The Amazing Spider-Man and Halloween themed.

Spiderweb Lantern

This will actually be his third Spider-Man birthday party, I wasn’t kidding when I said we have some big Marvel fans in our house. Luckily the stores are brimming full with creepy spider favors, decor, and treats so I’ll have plenty to work with. I have some cute ideas planned and I’m excited to share them with you throughout the month! First on my list was to make a Spiderweb mason jar lantern. The plan is to make several of these to line up the entryway with. I even thought about making smaller ones for the kids to take home as party favors. To make them I used vinyl and my Silhouette for the spiderweb then my Lifestyle Crafts die for the spiders. I tried making the webs with paper and mod podge but the vinyl worked a lot better in this case.

Supplies:

mason jar

black vinyl

ribbon

I’m undecided between doing a blue and red theme or black and orange for Halloween. I’m leaning towards a black and orange color scheme then emphasizing on the spiders. Now to get planning, Halloween will be here before we know it!

What a great way to reuse a mason jar! I’d love for you to share this at my new linky party, Submarine Sunday. I hope you’ll stop by!

Too cute! I’m thinking of skipping pumpkins altogether this Halloween and doing mason jar crafts instead.

I love mason jar crafts. Have you seen the pumpkin and ghost mason jars? Those would be fun to make with the kids. Thanks for stopping by, Chelsea!

I love this jar, I was trying to find a design for my last mason jar and I came across this and love it! I am going to attempt this jar design for next Halloween, trust me I may need a year to finish it!

I’m loving the creepy-cute vibe this is giving off, and that it would go with any color theme. Very pretty!!! :)
