Hey friends! Today I’m sharing an ikea hack – a bamboo dish set turned succulent planter box.

Ikea Hack - Succulent Planter

Are you a fan of succulents? They’re everywhere these days! I have to admit that when I first started seeing succulent projects last year I wasn’t quite sold on the trend. Of course after seeing them more and more they’ve grown on me. I’ve been wanting to make a succulent planter for awhile now and knew this was the perfect opportunity.
Ikea Hack - Dragan box
Ikea sent some bloggers a couple of sets of the Dragan bamboo boxes and challenged us to use them in a creative way. The boxes are actually bathroom dish sets but I knew as soon as I saw them they would make the perfect succulent planter for the kitchen.

The challenge was to create a project under $10. Since I already had soil at home I spent a whooping total of $10 on succulents. One of the plants had multiple succulents so I separated those for another project. Succulents 1

Succulent Box Planter

To make my succulent planter I filled the box halfway with soil then arranged the succulents. I then topped it off with more soil. Easy peasy!

Succulents

I hear succulents are easy to care for and don’t require much attention, other than a light watering here and there. I don’t know if my plants were a little dehydrated but I found them a tad bit difficult to arrange without parts breaking off. Since I have a hard time keeping plants alive I hope this succulent planter is good to me.

Great succulent planter. I did a succulent post on craftberry bush that ended up right next to yours. What timing. Succulents are so fun to use in containers and bouquets.
