DIY Mummy Halloween Crafts
Do you have a traditional theme you decorate with every year? Classic black and white is my all-time favorite for Halloween. Last year I had a black and white glam theme that I decorated with and loved the classic color combo. I tend to stay away from the creepy/gore Halloween decorations and gravitate towards glittery pumpkins. I also enjoy cute, kid-friendly Halloween decorations like the mummy lanterns I’m sharing today. This year I’m lighting up our walkway with cheesecloth mummy vases in various sizes.
To make mummy lanterns you only need an inexpensive vase or mason jar, cheesecloth, and googly eyes. I’m using a distressed cheesecloth fabric from the craft store to create a vintage mummy effect. To make the lanterns you glue the eyes on then wrap the cheesecloth around the vase. Use a flameless tea light to illuminate your lanterns and your ready to welcome Halloween trick-or-treaters!

How to make Halloween mummy lanterns
- Cut your cheesecloth into 3-4 inch strips. I ripped mine so that it would fray along the edges.
- Use tacky glue (or hot glue for longer lasting) to wrap the cheesecloth along the vase. Be very careful with the hot glue since the glue may seep through.
- Glue on the eyes and you’re done!
This cute Halloween craft is so easy to make! You can use the mummy lanterns to decorate your Halloween mantel, tablescape or front porch.
