The holiday season is a great time to gather with friends for a holiday crafting party. If you follow me on snapchat you may have noticed the recent Pinterest party, I attended. A friend of mine hosted a Pinterest-inspired craft party where everyone made holiday gifts for under $5. We had a great time eating delicious treats and making Christmas crafts. It also inspired me to have an ornament decorating party with a small group of friends.
Our house was built with a corner shelf that we refer to as the cutout. It’s a decent size and one of the first things you see as you walk into our home. I thought it would make a great spot to decorate for our ornament party.
I’m a big fan of switching out décor for each holiday and season. However, adding holes to our walls is not something I’m a fan of. Instead I rely on Command™ Brand hooks to easily transition our home decor for the holidays. With the help of Command™ Brand Small Wire Hooks I added a multi layered garland to the bottom of our shelf. This a great way to use several garlands together to create a festive look.
I found my Command™ Brand Hooks and Command™ Brand Clips at Walmart. You may even be able to find them by the holiday decor this time of year.
My favorite is the colorful glitter Christmas light garland!
Using clear mini Command™ Brand Clear Deco hooks I strung ornaments with fishing wire. I attached the hooks to the top and tied a couple knots of fishing wire to the hook, then dangled various sized ornaments. As you can see I went with a bright color scheme. I’m loving the Merry & Bright white tree with colorful ornaments theme.
To make things easy I added more of the silver garland to our breakfast bar where guests could select their ornaments and craft supplies. For this I used mini Command™ Brand Clear Deco Hooks.
Since we usually don’t decorate our front porch until after Thanksgiving, I added a few decorations to welcome our guests. I kept things simple with a couple of Christmas pillows and Christmas decorations on our bench. I’m head over heels in love with these bells from Walmart. I used Command™ Brand Outdoor Light Clips and they’re practically invisible behind the greenery.Â
I then displayed clear and color ornament balls for guests to decorate. I even had a kids ornament craft! I will share some of the ornaments we made in a separate tutorial post but here’s a peek of the reindeer ornament the kids made. Isn’t it adorable?
Decorating this space was a great way to welcome guests into our home. It’s bright, cherry and unlike my usual holiday color scheme. Using Command™ Brand Hooks  made decorating the space easy and interchangeable. I look forward to sharing some of the ornaments we made in an upcoming post!
beautiful love all the bright colors! we have always hung ornaments from the curtain rods with fishing line and love the look n the kitchen!
How fun! I want to party at your house :)
