Decorate chocolate-covered vanilla sugar wafer cookies into Grinch-themed cookies, reindeer chocolate-dipped cookies, peppermint bark cookies, and white chocolate cookies with Christmas sprinkles. This easy recipe is fun to make and great for a cookie exchange or Christmas party dessert.

Sugar wafer cookies are perfect for a CHRISTMAS COOKIE BOARD and HOT COCOA BOARD.

This simple, no-bake treat is kid-friendly and takes less than 20 minutes to make. Kids of all ages will enjoy adding fun toppings like sprinkles, peppermint pieces, and candy to the chocolate-covered sugar wafer cookies. It’s the perfect activity to make over school break or to whip up last-minute as a neighbor gift.

Christmas Chocolate Dipped Sugar Wafer Ingredients

  • Vanilla sugar wafer cookies – use vanilla or chocolate sugar wafer cookies to cover in chocolate. Tip: Schar makes gluten-free wafers if you need an allergy-friendly alternative.
  • Chocolate – milk, white, or dark chocolate based on your preference. Green candy melts are used to make the Grinch wafers.
  • Sprinkles – use holiday sprinkles and nonpareils for a festive pop of color. Red heart sprinkles are used for the Grinch wafers.
  • Peppermint bits – crushed peppermint candy is sprinkled on top of dark chocolate-covered wafers to create a peppermint bark treat.
  • Candy eyes – add candy eyes to make the reindeer wafer.
  • Pretzels – a mini pretzel is broken in half to make reindeer antlers.
  • M&M candy – add a shiny red nose to your reindeer treat with a red M&M candy.

Grinch Sugar Wafer Cookies

Create a Grinch-themed treat with a green candy coating and a red heart sprinkle. A classic and festive treat to make for a Grinch party.

  • Sugar wafer cookies
  • Green candy melts
  • Green sprinkles or sanding sugar
  • Red heart sprinkle
  1. Melt the green candy coating in a small microwave-safe bowl; stir every 30 seconds until smooth.
  2. Dip the sugar wafer cookie into the green chocolate. Shake off the excess chocolate and place it on parchment paper.
  3. Decorate with green sanding sugar and a red heart sprinkle.

Reindeer Sugar Wafer Cookies

The holiday season is a fun time to make reindeer-themed treats. Create reindeer sugar wafers with melted chocolate, a pretzel, and candy eyes, and finish with a bright red candy nose. This is the perfect treat to enjoy while making REINDEER ORNAMENTS.

  • Sugar wafer cookies
  • Chocolate
  • Pretzel
  • Candy eyes
  • Red M&M candy
  1. Dip the cookie in melted chocolate.
  2. Decorate with a pretzel on top, candy eyes in the center, and a red M&M for the nose.

Note: we broke the pretzel in half to make antlers, but I’d recommend using the whole pretzel when making this treat with kids. This step is easier, and you don’t have to worry about one of the pretzel pieces moving around before the chocolate sets.

White Chocolate & Christmas Sprinkles Sugar Wafers

  • Sugar wafer cookies
  • White chocolate
  • Sprinkles

A classic way to spruce up plain cookies is to dip them in melted white chocolate and decorate them with holiday-themed sprinkles. Have fun making holiday designs like holly leaves and berries or use jimmies and nonpareils to decorate.
