Pumpkin-shaped oreo balls made with only 5 ingredients! This festive treat is easy to make and great for a fall party or Thanksgiving gathering. Pair this simple, no-bake dessert with Turkey OREO Balls for your holiday dessert table.
It’s no secret we love oreo ball truffles in our home. We make them for every occasion and they’re always the first to go at parties. The kids love making them and helping me come up with new ideas each season.
This fall we made pumpkin-shaped oreo balls with only 5 ingredients! This easy oreo ball recipe is shaped into small pumpkins then dipped in melted orange chocolate. A small pretzel stick piece is placed at the top for the stem and a green leaf completes this tasty treat.
If you can’t find green leaf icing decorations, a green M&M candy or green icing will also work.
Ingredients to make oreo balls
- OREO cookies – regular or gluten-free, not double stuffed
- Cream cheese – softened to room temperature
- Orange melting wafers
- Pretzel sticks
- Green candy or leaf icing decoration
How to make Pumpkin Shaped OREO Balls
Watch this quick video tutorial on how to make OREO balls. Customize with different shapes, melting wafers, sprinkles, and candy decorations for every holiday throughout the year.
- To make pumpkin oreo balls, crush the cookies into small crumbs.
- Mix with softened cream cheese.
- Roll into balls. A small cookie scoop will ensure your truffles are the same size. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes, then score the balls with a toothpick to shape like a pumpkin. Check out the Cauldron OREO balls for a video tutorial on how to use toothpicks to shape the truffles.
- Dip into melted orange chocolate wafers.
- Decorate with a small pretzel stick piece and green leaf icing decoration.
Does this recipe work with pumpkin spice oreo cookies?
Yes! Use pumpkin spice Oreo cookies instead of the regular Oreos to create a pumpkin spice truffle. The recipe is the exact same. These would be perfect for a fall gathering or a Thanksgiving dessert table.
Do OREO balls need to be refrigerated?
Yes. It’s best to keep the prepared oreo balls refrigerated until ready to serve. The cream cheese in the recipe will begin to soften and change the texture. The best part is the chocolate shell paired with the firm oreo ball. My recommendation is to chill until ready to enjoy and don’t let them sit out for longer than an hour.
