Festive Christmas ornament oreo balls topped with gold Reese’s cups. Christmas ornament oreo cookie ball truffles make a great dessert recipe for an ornament gift exchange party. This easy recipe is made with only a handful of ingredients and is always a crowdpleaser.

This year we have been really into Oreo ball recipes. We challenged ourselves to try new holiday ideas throughout the year, and our Christmas oreo balls might be my favorite! The ornament oreo ball truffles were so fun to make with the kids.

We love the texture of Oreo cookie truffles. The chocolate shell pairs perfectly with the soft center made with only 2 ingredients. If you haven’t tried oreo ball truffles, trust me you’ll soon be making them for every party and holiday gathering. They’re simply the best and easiest dessert to make!

No-Bake Christmas Oreo Cookie Balls

The base recipe is a mix of Oreo cookies and cream cheese. Once the mixture is shaped into balls, they’re dipped in melted chocolate and decorated with holiday sprinkles.

This adorable holiday treat is excellent for a holiday party and can be customized to match a Christmas party theme.

Easy Christmas ornament ball truffles

Christmas Ornament Oreo Truffles Ingredients

  • Oreo cookies – classic or gluten-free Oreos (not double-stuffed) work best in this recipe. You can also use mint Oreos or other seasonal flavors.
  • Cream cheese – softened cream cheese is the ingredient that helps bind the crushed Oreos into a truffle-like mixture to shape into balls. Keep at room temperature for 30 minutes before making the recipe.
  • Candy melting wafers – white chocolate or colorful candy melts can be used to make festive ornament balls.
  • Mini Reese’s candy – the miniature Reese’s cups typically used for ice creams sundaes fit the ornament balls best.
  • Sprinkles – get creative with holiday sprinkles. Use a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes to decorate patterns similar to a decorated Christmas ornament.
  • Optional: edible gold spray – add a beautiful gold ornament topper by spraying mini Reese’s cup.
