DIY Bath Bombs
We love making our own bath bombs around here and lately have been getting creative with different shapes and scent combinations. The fun part about bath bombs is they don’t have to be round. You can make Unicorn Horn Bath Bombs, Tulip Bath Bombs and even Amethyst Bath Bombs. Using a plastic mold, we made a batch of Cherry Blossom Bath Bombs. The flowers are colored pink then painted in the center with a darker pink cosmetic mica powder. You can also use yellow or gold for the center.
Cherry Blossom Bath Bombs
Bath Bombs make great handmade gifts, especially for moms! The grapeseed oil helps nourish dry skin and works well for those with sensitive skin. It’s also a great alternative to almond oil. You can learn how to make them with coconut oil in this HOW TO MAKE BATH BOMBS post.

Cherry Blossom Bath Bombs
Ingredients
- 1 cup Baking Soda
- 1/2 cup Citric Acid
- 1/4 cup Epsom Salt
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 2 tbsp Grapeseed Oil
- 20 drops Cherry fragrance oil
- Cosmetic Pigment Powder
Instructions
- Combine baking soda citric acid, Epsom salt, cornstarch and pink cosmetic pigment powder in a large bowl.
- In a small cup, mix grapeseed oil, fragrance oil and water.
- Slowly pour liquid ingredients into dry mixture, quickly whisking ingredients together to prevent the mixture from fizzing too much. Test mixture by squeezing a handful to see if it holds its shape (see video above). If the mixture is too dry, lightly spray witch hazel until it can hold its shape.
- Firmly press bath bomb mixture into mold. Allow to dry overnight.
- Carefully remove bath bombs from mold.
- Mix together ¼ tsp cosmetic powder with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol, use a small brush to paint the center of the bath bomb.

Note: I tend to eyeball the cosmetic pigment, but will typically add about 1tsp per batch. It really depends on how pigmented you want the bath bombs to be, so feel free to add to adjust to your liking.
