12 Days of Christmas: Pear Ornament

Happy Monday, my friends! Today I’m sharing an easy German glass glitter pear ornament as part of my sweet friends Nat & Holly’s 12 Days of Christmas series. I absolutely adore Nat & Holly from My Sister’s Suitcase so I’m thrilled to be part of their series.

My part of the song is “A Partridge in a Pear Tree” and I decided to make a German glass glitter pear for our Christmas tree. The way the series works is everyday one crafty blogger will share a project of their interpretation from the song. Nat & Holly will share a quick intro then the tutorial will be on the assigned bloggers site. It’s definitely a fun series to be part of and to follow!

To make the ornament I painted a paper mache pear with metallic silver Martha Stewart acrylic paint. I found the pear in the dollar bin at Michaels and taped off the stem before painting.

Once the paint dried I used Martha Stewart glittering glue to add the German glass glitter.

To hang the pear ornament I tied a piece of silver elastic then added a small amount of hot glue to secure it ( and the bow) in place.

12 Days of Christmas activity

I’m so happy with the way it turned out! I love glitter during the holidays..actually I love glitter everyday but I think it’s a little more acceptable for Christmas. :)

12 Days of Christmas activity

I’m pulling out the Christmas decor today and I can’t wait to start decorating! I still want to make new ornaments with the kids and I think it would be great to try to create 12 days of Christmas ornaments with the kids. Any ideas on what to make?
