How to create a festive red, white, and blue candy board for the 4th of July. This patriotic dessert board is made with candy, chocolate-covered pretzels, and cookies to make an epic no-bake dessert option for your summer parties.

Add Patriotic Oreo Balls and white chocolate-covered popcorn to a July 4th dessert board.

Charcuterie boards have become a party staple for our family over the last few years. It’s fun to create holiday-themed boards for parties and family gatherings. While I enjoy adding various cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and deli meats, I love making dessert boards. This candy board is the perfect addition to any patriotic summer holiday.

Patriotic candy board ingredients

  • Red, white, and blue M&M’s
  • Foil-wrapped chocolate stars
  • Nonpareil chocolate candy
  • Red, white, and blue gummy rings
  • Gummy bears
  • Sour gummy stars
  • Rock candy
  • Lollipops with star sprinkles
  • White chocolate-covered pretzels
  • Chocolate-covered mini cookies
  • Licorice
  • Taffy
  • Mike & Ikes

How to make a red, white, and blue candy board

  1. Use a food-safe board or enamel platter. Find the red oval enamel platter HERE.
  2. Start by placing a star-shaped dish in the center to fill with small candy pieces. This is a great way to display holiday M&M’s or to serve a dessert dip.
  3. Work towards the star, finding candy pieces that best fit on your platter. I wanted to incorporate wrapped lollipops and rock candy on the sides. To hide the sticks, I used smaller candy pieces like licorice, taffy, and pretzels on top of the lollipop sticks.
  4. Fill in the empty spaces with small candies like M&M’s, gummy bears, or Jordan almonds.
  5. Alternate candy colors and shapes around the board until you’re happy with the display.

Where to find holiday candy

I always check local grocery stores and big box stores like Target and Walmart for holiday M&M’s and seasonal candy. See’s Candies and Williams Sonoma are great options for unique seasonal candy that will stand out on your charcuterie board. HomeGoods, the dollar store, and Party City are also great places to find individual color candy pieces to match your holiday party.
