DIY Easter Egg Wreath – create a beautiful spring wreath with moss, Easter eggs, and flowers.
The weather in California has been absolutely beautiful over the last few weeks. In fact we had our first rainstorm this weekend after a month of warm sunny days. With the flowers blooming and 70-degree weather it’s felt like spring for a while now, which makes me want to bring the beautiful flowers indoor. Since I tend to have a black thumb I use a lot of fake flowers to decorate my home with. Trust me I wish I could be someone with beautiful plants all around, but unfortunately I tend to forget about them. Ooops! I’ve recently started incorporating more flowers and Easter décor in our home. One of my favorite new additions is this Easter Egg Wreath I made.
When I started planning this spring wreath I wasn’t sure the direction I was going with it but I knew I wanted moss and flowers throughout the wreath. I picked up a couple of bundles from the new Floral Market at Michaels. The line has over 500 new blooms and freshly picked projects to make beautiful spring décor. You can check out some fun projects and inspiring ideas on Michaels.com or the other 49 Makers’ ideas on The Glue String blog.
I decided to use a grapevine wreath that would show behind the moss and eggs. I love the layers of the grapevine, moss, eggs, and small flowers. I finished the wreath with a mint and pink floral ribbon. All of my supplies came from Michaels.
Step one: add moss to the top of your wreath using a hot glue gun. Be very careful with the moss and glue! It’s easy for the glue to seep through the moss and burn yourself. By the way I only used on package of moss. I simply tore it into 3-4 sections and wrapped it around the wreath.
Step two: hot glue the eggs onto your wreath.
Step three: add the flowers to fill empty spaces. Use hot glue and a small amount of moss to help cover any faux stems.
Step four: Make a bow and use floral wire to wrap the bow around the wreath.
What do you think? It’s added a little festive spring décor to our entryway.
