My Favorite Holiday Scents

I love this time of the year, the holidays bring back so many memories from my childhood. One of the best memories I have is baking with my mother and sisters. We used to check out library books to find new recipes to try…oh how awesome pinterest would’ve been for our baking adventures back then! This time of the year brings a variety of holiday scents that remind me of those early years and today I’m sharing some of my favorite.

Gingerbread-this is the only time of the year that we bake gingerbread cookies. My kids love making cute little gingerbread boys and girls to dip in their hot cocoa. Let’s not forget those must have gingerbread houses too! Last year we made a gingerbread village and had so much fun decorating our little town filled with gumdrops and coconut as snow. { note: I did not bake the cookies pictured, I just thought they were cute :) }

Peppermint-ahhh the season of candy canes! Oh lovely red and white striped candy canes how I love thee. Whether we’re decorating our tree or dipping them in hot cooca, peppermint is THE scent of the season!

Coffee-Who can forget the scent of coffee as you gather with friends on cold winter days? Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering or on the go, coffee is one of my holiday essentials. I love flavored coffee and was recently sent samples of the new Dunkin Donuts gingerbread cookie flavor. It’s sweet with plenty of spice and perfect for my next ornament making party.

You can find the Dunkin Donuts seasonal varieties at your local grocery store or Dunkin Donuts location. The seasonal favorites include gingerbread cookie, mocha mint, and pumpkin spice. I’m going to be on the lookout for the pumpkin spice!
