Flower Pillow Cover {HGTV Fabric}

I recently received some of the new HGTV Fabric available at Jo-Ann to review and the first thing I thought of was how perfect the yellow and grey fabric matched my current home decor. Since I’m currently working on updating my front porch I knew adding bright, colorful pillow covers would be easy to do. With the grey and yellow fabric I made a flower pillow cover to coordinate with my porch makeover. It’s still a work in process but I hope to finish this weekend and show it to you next week!

Easy paper flower tutorial

DIY Paper Flowers {without a die cutting machine}

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching it’s time to start thinking about gifts and ideas for the special mother’s in your life. Today I’m going to show you how easy it is to make paper flowers without a die cutting machine. It’s no secret that I enjoy using my die cutting machines, but I still like using punches just as much as I used to! These flowers are made with a punch, layered to create an ombre effect, and finished with a button in the center. You can use the paper flowers in a bouquet, centerpiece for your Mother’s Day brunch, or to wear as a boutonniere.

Rhinestone leather mystery braid bracelet

How to make rhinestone leather bracelets

After I made the Mystery Braid Bracelets my daughter asked if I could make her one. I mentioned that I had several leftover and she could pick the color she wanted. Being the girly girl that she is she asked if I could make her a pretty mystery braid bracelet. Pretty to this almost 4 year old means bright and colorful. I’ll be honest I didn’t know how bright and colorful I could make a leather bracelet, but I was up for the challenge. I took her along to the craft store and found rhinestone rivets and leather flowers cut outs. Then we went home and I figured out the easiest way to add a rhinestone rivet to leather using a scrapbook tool I already had on hand.
